Locked Out Memories

Hi, Welcome!

Locked Out Memories is a short VR movement demo set in the creepy atmosphere of an old mansion.

A "survival horror game in VR + wheelchair"

The wheelchair physics are simulated as in real life. Using the triggers in the VR controllers you will have to grab and push your wheels forward or backward to move, or a mix of both to rotate.

Right now, you can play the  movement demo, so, all you will need to do is grab the oil lantern, hang it in the stick above your head and explore the mansion corridors trying to understand what is going on in this place.

The demo is ONLY FOR HTC VIVE for now (sorry Oculus users, maybe valve index works too, but can't test it)

Controls and other questions:

Use the triggers in your motion controllers to grab the wheels, they will rumble once in the grab area

Movement: Push both wheels forward  or backward to move

Turn: grab each wheel and push the in each direction, one backward and one forward

don't do it too fast :D

Grab items (not everything is available to grab) --> Use the triggers

Reset the camera position:

HTC Vive--> press the grip buttons
Valve index  --> press  A button

Keyboard --> L key to reposition the center of the player

In general, try to make sure you are in the middle of the VR chair, try if possible to play in a regular day-to-day chair, gaming chairs use to allow you to rotate and move around, and it may cause you displacements with the VR chair.

Reload the game --> K key
Exit game --> Escape key

The game is inspired by the puzzle vibe of the Resident Evil and silent hill franchise, exploring the house, finding information and key objects to unlock new areas and face new challenges...

For this version I’ve removed all the puzzles, most of the interactions and left you with only one level as I need to make sure the movement mechanics and the atmosphere really work and give you the feeling of being in a real wheelchair in a f***** up place / horror environment.

This is just a tease of the full VR Game I’m trying to develop, You can see the pictures for a teaser of the future levels of the final game

Thanks to everyone who has reached this point in the lecture, I'll publish the game soon if I can, the demo build works right now and I'm finishing the teaser and tuning up the description images etc to launch it in the best way possible.
